Antisamos Beach is arguably one of the most favorable destinations for swimming and sunbathing in Kefalonia. It is located 30.6 km east of Argostoli and pretty close to the port of Sami.
Antisamos stands out for its natural beauty which consists of turquoise waters and a marvelous surrounding of green hills and lush vegetation on top of it. It is this stunning scenery that characterizes this area and captivates all visitors.
A beach like this could be nothing but well-organized with umbrellas and sunbeds. Two beach bars serve the guests, while watersport facilities are also part of the beach. Behind the hill, there is a great spot for sunbathers and nature lovers. Apart from the beach which is considered a beautiful sightseeing itself, the lovely Monastery of Agrillion stands on top of the hill.
Antisamos has gained a worldwide reputation from the Hollywood movie Captain Corelli's Mandolin, where some of the scenes were filmed there.
The beach is easily accessed from a coastal road in Sami.
